40s are the new 30s, they say. Having that in mind, it’s safe to say that anything goes when it comes to fashion and personal style. However, it’s quite tricky to create your signature look if you don’t already have one, or adapt it if you feel the need to do that. As years go by, we slowly start to realize that having a good shoe collection is everything. You may have a lot of money or a bit less, but when it comes to clothing, this is the area that requires high quality and spending a bit more money. Anything else can be of better or worse quality, but your shoes are important in terms of style, as well as health and comfort. Women of Australia realized that sooner than Europe and they really appreciate the comfy style. So, let’s see what a collection you need to be completely covered and awesome.
Compromise
They say that comfort comes before style after a certain age. This makes sense up to a point, but it doesn’t mean you need to get yourself grandma shoes and give up everything cute you still want to wear. So, instead of choosing a pair of high thin uncomfortable heels, perhaps you can choose a pair of comfy pumps that still look gorgeous, but don’t make you want to kill yourself after 15 minutes of wearing them. A thick stable heel that provides support is going to be your new best friend. You can wear the most gorgeous thin high heel in the world, but you won’t look good not being able to walk in them. If you compromise with a lower or thicker heel, you’ll look much better walking naturally than struggling every step of your way.
Classic sneakers
Regardless of your style, without any exception, every woman needs a good pair of sneakers. A pair of flat comfortable footwear is a definite must for a huge number of occasions. Going to the park with your kids? Going grocery shopping? Having casual coffee with friends? Sneakers are the way to go. Moreover, you should get them in a color as neutral as possible, like white or black so you can combine them with any outfit.
Sandals
Summer days are inviting you to get something more freeing for your feet and sandals are a great candidate. If sandals give you the creeps, you can get a pair of flats. They can still look absolutely gorgeous. The only thing you need to be aware of is to have comfortable soles. If you invest in a comfy, anatomically shaped pair of sandals, you’ll be able to spend the whole summer in them and still feel great. Your feet won’t be swelling and they’ll still look lovely. There are all sorts of models, so you choose a more classical one or a modern one.
Ankle boots
If you don’t already have a pair of perfect ankle boots, you need to get them immediately. They are cute, comfy and they can match almost any outfit. They work great in a range of occasions, which includes parties, casual meetups with friends and fancy occasions like going to the theatre, as they even go well with stylish cocktail dresses. They are truly excellent. Plus, they are a great compromise between style and comfort as they are absolutely trendy, but not painful to wear.
All in all, a good pair of shoes can save the day and this is definitely true. Be honest, you can’t really enjoy an event in horribly uncomfortable shoes that look good. Those days are over. Don’t think of it as if you’ve become too old, but rather more mature and aware of what your priorities should be. So, go and renew your shoe closet and don’t let anything stop you from being your fabulous self.
