What is CBN?

What is CBN?

When stepping into the healing world of cannabinoids, it can get a bit confusing. You know about CBC, THC, and CBG, but now CBN? What is that, and what’s it suitable for? Here is what you need to know.

What is CBN?

CBN is a minor cannabinoid that forms as a result of Tetrahydrocannabinol aging (THC). You see THC begins to alter and break down after being harvested or after aging cannabis plants are exposed to heat, light, and oxygen over extended periods. Thus, CBN is generated. In other words, CBN is found in aging cannabis plants.

However, there are cases where high concentrated amounts of CBN are found in even freshly harvested plants. It is less psychotropic compared to THC.

What are the Benefits?

CBN has been gaining popularity for its many healing benefits, such as helping to relieve pain from inflammation, aiding in relaxation, and promoting sleep. Studies have also hinted that it may have neuroprotective qualities, as well as help protect against seizures. They are usually combined with other cannabinoids like THC, which boost the CBN power of sleep induction and come in CBN capsules.

Overall Review

Even though CBD and CBG provide similar results, it is scientifically proven that they are all different. Compared to the others, CBN has an entirely different molecular makeup. CBD has been proven through a ton of research, but CBN has not. Particularly its effects on humans. Even so, CBN capsules are gaining popularity among medical marijuana dispensers and cannabis markets. Search for CBN products, and you will find that it is being marketed as a gentle alternative to other sleep aids, as CBN has been said to help relax and promote good sleep at night.
