Mindset is a powerful thing. Some of the most successful people in history have proven this by exceeding the expectations of the world and changing the way we all think about things.
If you’re reading this, you already have some level of self-awareness and willingness to grow. To help build on that healthy foundation, check out these six mindset adjustments that will help you achieve success:
- A Big Swanky Office Doesn’t Equal Success
In a growing virtual age, swanky offices are more and more being viewed as an unnecessary expenditure. Warehouses and physical offices are incredibly expensive, and a lot of the time, they aren’t needed. Remote working practices, apps and software, cheap self-storage, and a virtual office can provide you with everything you need to be a big-time entrepreneur or startup without any need for a hefty office or commercial space.
- Learn To Appreciate Feedback
When you feel somebody is being critical of you, do you feel negative emotions rise up in response? If so, this is natural, but if you lash out instead of calmly assessing the feedback, then your mindset is in urgent need of a change.
Learn to take feedback with a calm and open attitude. Always assume that it’s being delivered with a genuine intent to help you, and not to be malicious. Do these things, and you’ll be able to actively grow from that feedback.
- Admire Rather Than Seethe In Jealousy
If you secretly feel jealous when others find success, it’s time to flip that on its head and embrace admiration instead. First, remember that whatever you are seeing is a showreel (only 16-32% of people are totally truthful online), and there will be more to their story than meets the eye.
Second, take inspiration, ideas, and tips from how they have achieved success. Allow yourself to feel genuinely happy for them. Don’t fall into the void of saying nasty things about them and belittling what they have done because of your jealousy. Bitterness will only cause damage to you, wasting your energy and making you look bad to anyone who sees it.
- From Fixed To Growth
According to psychologists, a fixed mindset is one in which we believe that certain attributes are something we are born with – unable to be changed, no matter what you do. A growth mindset is where you see pretty much everything as accessible and achievable with the right approach. This mindset also comes with the general feeling that failure is an opportunity for growth. This is the key to achieving success long-term in all areas of your life.
- Being Truly Open-Minded
Many people think that they are open-minded, but most people are not. Being truly open-minded means being open to all kinds of ideas, perspectives, information, and more. It’s incredibly useful when it comes to success because it enables true abstract and critical thinking.
- I Am Enough
For some, a boost in self-confidence can mean doing mantras and learning how to be more positive overall. For others, therapy might be needed. Either way, if you don’t believe that you are enough in any area of your life, then you never will be. It’s a self-fulfilling prophecy.
“Progress is impossible without change; and those who cannot change their minds cannot change anything.” – George Bernard Shaw
